Tropical Lightning Climbing Rose produces flowers in a rare color for a climber. Each deep orange flower is streaked with lighter hues of orange, as well as shades of yellow, coral and bits of purple. These unusual double blooms are large, about 3 to 4 in. across, and grow in clusters of about 3 to 4 flowers each. The fragrant, exhibition-quality roses do just as well when used for container plantings as they do for privacy screens. In the garden or landscape, their bold color goes well with perennials that bloom in yellow, white or purple. They are showy enough to be used for flower arrangements and bouquets, too. This rose is hardy in USDA zone 4. In zones less than 6, roses should be fully covered to protect from frost, snow and wind. Be sure to uncover and remove mulch from the roses as soon as the danger of frost has passed.. Each offer includes one dormant bare root #1.5 grade rose.
