Historically it's been used against infectious diseases. When misted or diffused it can sterilize the air, also good for sterilizing surfaces. It's a strong analgesic essential oil, and I regularly use lemongrass with my pain oils. Lemongrass is especially good for tendons, ligaments, and connective tissue. It heals, strengthens, and supports these strong fibrous tissues. Great oil for massage, diluted properly of course. Safety: Lemongrass essential oil is on the FDA's Generally Regarded As Safe (GRAS) list. Lemongrass essential oil is non-toxic, however, it may be sensitizing in some individuals. Contraindicated in pregnancy (Do not use when pregnant).
