Each ½ yard will give you 8, 9" squares. You can use any Cotton quilting fabric, Flannel Fabric or *Minky fabric. (Minky will not fray but makes a cute super soft quilt) *Just a note about any Minky type fabric. It is not necessary to use the flannel batting with it. You can use it if you wish but I have found it much easier to sew if I don't, since the Minky material is already quite thick. 1 ¼ Yards of Flannel for batting), you can use any color, but make sure it goes with your material because it will show at the ragged area of the quilt.
