It will not survive in areas that receive more than 25 inches of rain annually. This sun-loving, warm season grass also does not tolerate shade. For best results, sow Buffalo Grass Seed in the spring and use our zone finder information and recommendations to ensure successful gardening. Buffalo grass can take about 3 to 4 weeks to germinate. To help your buffalo grass grow, keep the soil lightly moist, watering briefly and often. Once you start seeing small green shoots, continue watering this way for another two weeks.
