Walmart is planning to cut thousands of corporate positions in Texas and California, the company said in filings it made to state employment officials.

Walmart’s plan for consolidating offices translates into job moves or losses for 1,472 local employees tied to facilities in downtown Dallas and Carrollton. Most of those employees — 1,266 — work either in or remotely from the company’s Sam’s Club technology hub in the West End’s Factory Six03 building in downtown Dallas.
