As Red Rocks season is picking up, United Airlines announced its partnership with the iconic Colorado venue, allowing cardholders to use their credit card points on concert tickets.

Red Rocks Amphitheatre and United Airlines will now allow United's MileagePlus members to redeem miles for tickets to select shows.

Airline points and miles can be great for defraying the cost of travel. But if you've got more points than you know what to do with, there are some weird and often-overlooked ways to use them, including charitable donations and subscriptions.

If your ticket was acquired directly through United Airlines’ website, via phone through the United Customer Contact Center, from a United agent at the airport, or through a United ticket office, your ticket will start with “016”. In this case, your mileage accrual will be based on the fare and your MileagePlus status.
