Microsoft will soon allow businesses and developers to build AI-powered Copilots that can work like virtual employees and perform tasks automatically. Instead of Copilot sitting idle waiting for queries, it will be able to do things like monitor email inboxes and automate a series of tasks or data entry that employees normally have to do manually.

Based on the Microsoft Teams discussion, Team Copilot can suggest post-discussion activities, such as follow-up tasks, to ensure that everyone continues to be on the same page. For example, Team Copilot can recommend setting up a follow-up meeting with a co-worker.

A number of users on X immediately greeted the feature and demos of it with alarm. Some even equated it to spyware or keyloggers.
