LSU (27-16, 6-13 SEC) hitters went nine up and nine down to start the game before finally breaking through in the fourth. Tommy White blasted his 15th home run of the year, a solo shot to put LSU up 1-0 over Auburn (20-21, 2-17).

LSU got the scoring started in the bottom of the fourth inning via the long ball. Tommy White hit a solo shot to give LSU a 1-0 lead. In the bottom of the fifth inning, that trend continued as Hayden Travinski hit a solo shot of his own to give LSU a 2-0 lead.

Despite falling in all three weekend contests last weekend against the Mississippi State Bulldogs, Auburn head coach Butch Thompson has opted to stick with the same trio of pitchers for this weekend's series against LSU.
