It was a quick start for hometown hero Jordan Spieth at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson on Thursday morning. After the first round was delayed an hour due to early morning rainfall, the Dallas native, who started on the back nine, birdied three of his first five holes to jump out to an early score of 3-under par.

Spieth said while he is inspired by what Scheffler is doing in pro golf right now, he admits it "sucks" and makes him want to get better.
