Russia on Monday said it would hold a military exercise that will include practice for the use of tactical nuclear weapons after what the defence ministry said were provocative threats from Western officials.

Since invading Ukraine in 2022, Putin has repeatedly made veiled threats to use tactical nuclear weapons against the West.

Russia is threatening to strike British military facilities and says it plans to hold drills simulating the use of battlefield nuclear weapons.
