Houston teachers are calling for immediate action after a report alleged Miles' Colorado charter schools received millions in Texas taxpayer money.

Spectrum News’ Brett Shipp reported that Colorado-based Third Future Schools, which Miles founded and led until he was appointed to lead Houston ISD last summer, sent millions in taxpayer money from its school in Odessa to another network school in Colorado that needed financial assistance.

Houston ISD community members are calling for an investigation into HISD state-appointed Superintendent Mike Miles’ spending practices after reports that Third Future Schools — the charter school network he founded — moved funds from Texas public charter schools to Colorado campuses while Miles was CEO of the network.
