The long-haul carrier Emirates says it saw record profits of $4.7 billion in 2023 as the airline fully took flight after the turbulent years of the coronavirus pandemic disrupted its operations

The airline's best-ever financial performance figures were "driven by the voracious appetite for travel across customer segments," the Emirates Group said.

Dubai's Emirates airline on Monday reported full-year profit up more than 60% at 17.23 billion dirhams ($4.69 billion), comfortably beating the previous year's 10.6 billion dirhams.

Emirates Airline recorded 63% profit rise, carrying over 51m passengers in a year. Dubai-based airline attributes its success to quick response to customer demands.

Dubai's Emirates Group announced annual profits of $5.1 billion on Monday, a rise of 71 percent, as the airline company set a new record for the second year in a row. Citing strong customer demand, it said group profits for the past two years hit $8.

The company announced its strongest financial performance to date for the fiscal year 2023-24, hitting a Dh18.7-billion mark
