June 14 (UPI) -- Normani released her debut solo album Dopamine on Friday. The album, which has been years in the making marks the former Fifth Harmony star "finally stepping into who I've been called to be," she told Billboard .

Normani and Camila Cabello are expressing mutual admiration for each other. Following the release of her debut album, "Dopamine," on Friday, June 14, the "Motivation" singer, aged 28, received praise from her former bandmate, the "Havana" artist, in the comments section of her Instagram post.

The project was released on Friday (June 14), weeks after she built up anticipation for the body of work by teasing the provocative track, “Dopamine (First Dose).” The first single, “1:59,” featured Gunna and was released in March.

Lauren Jauregui is in Normani ‘s corner, no matter what. The "Expectations" singer made sure to give her former Fifth Harmony bandmate a shout-out on Normani's Dopamine album release day - six years after the girl group split.
