First Alert Chief Meteorologist Mike Buresh said there’s a shot at some much need rain mid-week. There won’t be much rain this week outside of low-coverage showers or storms as the sea breeze moves inland. The one exception will be Wednesday when it appears there will be higher coverage showers and storms.

Monday was a hot and humid day with very little cooling showers around the area, this trend of limited rain will continue all week.

A First Alert Weather Day has been issued for Tuesday. Showers and thunderstorms will be possible at anytime. During the mid-late afternoon, a couple of storms could become strong to severe, producing damaging wind gusts and possibly small hail. The weekend comes to a close on a mild and dry note for much of the Mid-South with only a few stray showers in North Mississippi today. The night ahead will be mainly dry, but a somewhat active pattern will be in place as the work week begins.
