Chris Kreider scored a goal after being publicly ridiculed by Panthers star winger Matthew Tkachuk, but it wasn’t enough for the Rangers in Game 5.

Yes, that’s right. As Rangers vet Chris Kreider had a little face-to-face with his counterpart Matthew Tkachuk, it looks like he grabbed the mouthguard out of the Panthers star’s mouth and tossed it into the crowd.

Less than a minute into the final frame, Rangers wing Chris Kreider got into one of those jawing/shoving matches that NHL players love to get into during the postseason with Panthers star Matthew Tkachuk. Kreider ended up with Tkachuk's mouthguard, but of course was not going to just give it back.

It all started when Rangers forward Chris Kreider got into it with Panthers star Matthew Tkachuk under a minute into the third period. Kreider evidently was fed up with the edgy player's antics. That led him to chuck Tkacuick's mouthguard into the crowd.

The New York Rangers would not be in the Eastern Conference Final without Chris Kreider. But it's also looking like they won't advance beyond the Eastern Conference Final unless Kreider gets going.
